2012/2013

The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) is pleased to announce that the following players have been selected in preparation for the Under 19 Regional Qualifiers to be held in mid 2013. This is in line with the BCB National Academy (BCBNA) philosophy of inclusion to give as many players an opportunity to develop their cricket to an elite level. The BCBNA has a holistic and comprehensive program approach to develop the players not only as cricketers but as productive members of Bermudian society.

National Coach David Moore stated, The squad is a well balanced unit that has depth in all facets of the game. It features many of the players that competed in the ICC Americas U18 Match Play tournament held in Lauderhill in July 2012. The Under 19 program is a three year cycle that includes the selection of many Under 17 players to take part in the comprehensive program as additional preparation for the U19 CWC Qualifier in 2015.

Throughout the winter the squad will undertake specialist coaching in the batting, pace bowling, spin bowling and wicket keeping domains. As time gets closer to the tournament the squad will be trimmed to a smaller number to develop effective team strategies and skills. The player's ultimate selection will be determined on how they satisfy the National Selection Policy.

Coach Moore concluded, It is also encouraging to note that there are seven players named that are undertaking their education and developing their cricket skills in an overseas environment. These players will be well coached while overseas. The Under 19 coaching staff will stay in contact with the players' overseas coaches to monitor their progress in all facets of their game as well as their personal development.
