BBC Announces FREE Pee Wee "Have-a-go" Cricket Workshop

The Bermuda Cricket Board, with the support of the Western Counties Cricket Association and Ironshore Insurance Ltd., is pleased to announce that they will be holding the BCB Pee Wee "Have-a-go" Cricket Workshop for children ages 5 - 7.

The workshop will be held at Berkeley Institute Gym and will take place every Saturday, starting on March 13 and finishing on April 10, 2010. The sessions will run from 1.30pm - 3.00pm.

Mr. Arnold Manders, Cricket Development Director stated, "During the session, the players will be introduced to the basics of cricket with the main aim of having fun.  Utilising the ?Have-a-go? Cricket equipment, we will work with the players on learning the basics skills of catching, bowling and batting with the aim of playing a game on the last Saturday. The emphasis of ?Have-a-go? Cricket is on participation and enjoyment."

Mr. Pearman, President of the BCB commented, "I am particularly pleased to see that the young ones will get a chance to play cricket once again. This is on of the BCB's most popular programmes. Last year numbers increased by over %400. Many of the players who started in this programme now play for a team in the 8&Unders. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Western Counties Cricket Association and Ironshore Insurance Ltd. for supporting these sessions and the National Cricket Team and the coaches who volunteer their time."
