T20 League Tie-Breakers

With the final round of league play this Saturday the BCB announce that in the event that teams finish on equal points in their division the following tie-breakers will apply.

1.      If 2 teams finish on equal points the winner of their respective head to head game will determine the ultimate winner.

2.      If 3 teams finish on equal points the league will be won by the team with the highest team batting average.

In the East Zone, the game between St. George's and St. David's will determine the winner of that division and they will play in the first semi-final on Sunday at NSC.

Based on current results, Police RC have already secured their place in the first semi-final on Sunday.

In the West Central zone the winner of the game between PHC and Legtrappers will advance to the second semi-final on Sunday at NSC.

Saturday's results in the West zone will determine which team goes through to the semi-finals. Currently, any one of Somerset, Southampton Rangers, or Willow Cuts could still win that division.

The teams' batting averages currently are:

                                                            Runs Scored               Wickets           Average

Somerset                           338                              14                    24.14

Southampton Rangers                     282                              11                    25.64

Willow Cuts                                   228                              17                    13.41

Teams are reminded that the rules provide for:

1.      1 hour and 20 minutes only for each innings. Slow over rates will lead to reduced innings interval

2.      The incoming batsman has 90 seconds to be in position to take guard otherwise he will be ruled timed out under Law 31.
