BF&M 17&Under Player Development League

The BF&M 17&Under Player Development League (17&U PDL) provides a valuable community program, which keeps young boys and girls involved in a sport they love and on the right path to a successful future. The PDL focus is on developing player’s tactical skill, fitness level and competition specific training. Players learn to be proficient in the performance of both basic and sport specific skills and will have the opportunity to learn these skills under a variety of competitive conditions during training. There is now an emphasis on individual development and preparation will reflect each player’s individual strengths and weaknesses. The BF&M 17&U PDL is one of our most important leagues, which fills a gap in the community by offering young men and women an environment which encourages and requires discipline, focus, communication and teamwork.

BF&M 17&Under League Goals

• Provide access for all to participate.
• Provide opportunities for skill development, knowledge of the game, challenge, the joy of achieving and development of the spirit of cricket.
• Provide equal opportunities for all young people to participate in practice and training.
• Provide a safe, enjoyable, non-threatening positive environment to enhance their cricket and social skills.
• Provide peer leadership and coach education to all instructors.

2013 BF&M 17&Under All Star Results

The East took the trophy this year after getting the West all out for 67!

The MVP for the East was Maquille Walker for 2 wickets and a catch (see below left with Jon Carey, BF&M Representative).

The MVP for the West was Sheldon Ceasar with 4 overs, 14 runs and 2 wickets (see below right with Jon Carey, BF&M Representative).

After the All Star game the U17s played a T20 and the results and the East won again with 102 for 3 after getting the west all out for 101.
