The Women's Programme started in 2005 with a group of enthusiastic "back-yard" cricketers. Since then, the team has grown to be able to compete at the international level. In 2007 they qualified to take part in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers in South Africa, a real eye opener for many of the members who were able to experience professional cricket at a highly competitive level. The team met players from around the world and returned to Bermuda inspired by their level of play and commitment to the sport.

The Following players attended the Americas Regional Championship, in May 2009, Fort Lauderdale, Florida: Terry Lynn Paynter (Captain), Stacey Babb, Charlene Thompson, Rhoda Jones, Akeyla Furbert (14 years old), Jenay Edness (18 years old), Zeita Bean, Nicole Jones, Wendy Woodley, Rickelle Smith, Rachael Smith, Precious Smith (13 years old), Lisa Richardson and Maryellen Jackson. The BCB continues to develop women's cricket by focusing on encouraging girls to participate in our many youth programmes.

In 2009 girls actively participated in our Pee Wee "Have-A-Go" Cricket Programme, in the BCB Summer Camp, in the BCB Youth Leagues, in all our local schools and in the National Girls Development Team. The BCB is in the process forming a local women's league that will provide much needed playing experience for players to compete against each other at the same level.
