ICC Americas Team Day 2 Update

ICC Americas Team Day 1 Update
The ICC Americas team caught their first glimpse of the next generation of Caribbean cricketers today when they played their first match against Guyana U19. It should have served as a wakeup call for a few of the Americas team as Guyana ran out easy winners by 7 wickets. Click for more.

Jordan Smith Update
Jordan Smith is now in the UK where he is spending the remainder of the summer playing cricket for Worcestershire East U15's and Knowle and Dorridge U15's. 
This week (Aug 5 -9) Jordan will be playing in a tournament for Worcestershire East U15's. On Monday, Aug 5th Worcestershire?s East were scheduled to play two T20?s which had to be called off due to bad weather. 
Tuesday, Aug 6th
Worcestershire's East played a 40 over match against Worcestershire's Central. 
Worcestershire Central won the toss and batted first. After 20 overs Worcestershire Central were 67 for 7. Two of Worcestershire's Central late order batsmen had an 85 run partnership helping the Central team move the score to 169 all out in 40 overs. 

Worcestershire East opened the batting with Jordan Smith batting at number 1. Jordan Smith and the number 3 batsman had an 80 run partnership. Jordan was the second highest scorer with 44 after being dismissed lbw. Top scorer was batsman number 3 with 52. Worcestershire East ended up winning the match scoring 171 for 6 after 33 overs. Jordan also had bowling figures 6-0-18-2. Worcestershire East played Shropshire Development Squad at Alveley CC on Thursday 8 August in a 40 over match. Worcestershire East scored 245 for 1 in their 40 overs. Jordan Smith opened the batting for Worcestershire East, batting at number 1 with his team captain. Jordan and his captain had a 244 run partnership. The captain scored 157 not out. Jordan scored 70 in 39.5 overs. Jordan was the only wicket the Worcestershire East lost. Shropshire Development Squad finished 110 for 9 after 40 overs.

BCB Training Squad Update - Treadwell Gibbons
The national training squad was selected and approved shortly before the Cup Match holiday to be released on Tuesday 6 August. In light of the incidents during the second day of Cup Match Treadwell Gibbons has been suspended from the squad until investigations into the matter are complete.

Four Bermudians selected to play in the Americas All Star Squad in the West Indies Cricket Board U19 Tournament!
The BCB is very proud to confirm that four of its U19 players that competed in the recent ICC U19 World Cup Qualifier have been selected to the ICC Americas All-Star squad which will compete in the West Indies Cricket Board U19 competition from August 9th to 22nd.

BCB Summer Clinic Registration still Open!
The BCB is pleased to announce that registration is still open for the BCB Summer Clinic for girls and boys age 7 to 14. The clinic runs July 22 August 23 from 9am to 3pm with optional after-camp supervision from 3pm to 5.30pm at Berkeley Institute Gym and Nets and Western Stars Field. The camp costs $100 per week and an additional $50 per week for the after-clinic supervision and is supported by Argus and the Argo Foundation.
