President of the BCB, Mr. Reginald Pearman stated: ?Although this is an inexperienced team and in the early stages of development, we are extremely pleased with the progress of the women?s squad over the past year. With the generous support of BF & M and the Government, the team has had a comprehensive preparation program for the Qualifiers. They have participated in the Boys U16 cricket league, the evening 20/20 league and a triangular tournament vs. Bermuda?s National U15s and an U15 side from the United States. They have attended various training camps and a training tour in Trinidad and they have recently returned from the first ever Americas Championship, finishing second behind Canada. I know that the team has been working hard to ready themselves for this tournament, which will provide stiff competition from some experienced and talented teams, and I urge all of Bermuda to support our women at the qualifiers.?
