History will be made next Saturday when Bermuda Host ICC WCL Div 3

Four of Bermuda's umpires will make cricket history at the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 tournament starting on Sunday 28 April.

Roger Dill, Stephen Douglas, Richard Austin and Kent Gibbons have been selected to officiate at the event, which is the first time in seven years, over 19 different tournaments, that four umpires from the same country have stood together at one tournament.

The quartet's selection, an achievement that no other country has ever come close to matching, highlights the continued international quality of members of the Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association.

Dill and Douglas will stand as umpires on the field, while Austin and Gibbons have been appointed as reserve (third) umpires.

BCB president Lloyd Fray said he was delighted at the historical achievement, and was quick to praise the group's high standard of umpiring.

"On behalf of the board, I am delighted that four of our local umpires have been selected to officiate during the World Cricket League to be hosted in Bermuda, said the president."

"I would like to congratulate Roger, Steven, Richard and Kent for this outstanding achievement."

"All four of these gentlemen have officiated on the international stage and it is their high standard of umpiring that have given them the opportunity to be selected for this event."

BCUA President Walisfort Manders said, "The trust that the ICC has placed in our local umpires indicates that our umpiring product continues to be of superlative standard. Our investment in training and development is justly reaping the returns and we look forward to the ICCs support in these endeavors in the future."
