Stefan Kelly - Update

 

The Bermuda Cricket Board is extremely pleased to announce that Stefan Kelly has been offered conditional places at Leeds University, Loughborough University, and Glamorgan University for the 2008/9 academic year. All three Universities have a Cricketing Centre of Excellence, which provide first class cricketing facilities, coaching and the latest innovations in video analysis, sports science and medical support. Attending a University with a Cricketing Centre of Excellence gives players the opportunity to attend an excellent cricketing programme whilst at the same time allowing them to gain a first class academic degree.

 

All three places are conditional on Stefan obtaining high A-level grades which he will sit later this month at Oakham School, UK.

 

Stefan continued to perform well in the cricketing arena and was selected to Captain Oakham's 1st team. His highlights from this term are as follows:

 

  • Oakham (103 for 8) vs Trent (98 all out), Stefan made 10 runs off 8 balls batting at number 6/Bowling 5 overs for a meager 6 runs.
  • Oakham (143 for 4) vs XL Club (142 all out), Stefan?s bowling analysis was 7-3-17-1 and batted at number 6 scoring 24 runs off 26 balls which included four 4's.
  • Oakham (149 all out) vs Peterborough Deacons (114 all out), Stefan scored 35 runs of 30 balls and hit five 4's. He bowled 5 overs and took 1 wicket for a miserly 5 runs.
  • Oakham (155 for 8) vs St. Albans (153), Stefan took 3 wickets for 35 runs and took a catch. Batting at Number 6, he scored 15 runs off 17 balls.
  • Oakham vs. Leicester Gents (Draw), Stefan scored 23 not out and hit four 4's. His bowling analysis was 7-1-23-0.

President, Mr. Reginald Pearman stated, "The Board is extremely pleased with Stefan's progress at Oakham. He has done exceptionally well, both academically and in cricket. It is a great achievement to have been offered three conditional places at such prestigious cricketing universities. I would like to take this time to thank the Bank of Bermuda Foundation for supporting Stefan's schooling at Oakham and wish Stefan the best of luck with his remaining exams."
