The Bermuda Cricket Board distances itself from the comments made by Clay Smith in his article, "ICC conspired against us," in the Royal Gazette on April 24, 2009, subsequent to completion of the tournament where he served as Assistant National Coach.

The President of Bermuda Cricket Board, Mr. Reginald Pearman stated, "I am very surprised and disappointed by some of the remarks made by Clay in his article, in particular his allegation of conspiracy by the ICC. These comments are obviously his personal opinion and in no way reflect the thoughts of the Board."
