BCB Announces 2011 Pee Wee "Have-A-Go" Cricket Board

The Bermuda Cricket Board, with the support of the Western Counties Cricket Association and Ironshore Insurance Ltd., is pleased to announce that they will be holding the BCB Pee Wee "Have-a-go" Cricket Programme for children ages 5 - 7.

The workshop will be held at Berkeley Institute Gym and will take place every Saturday, starting on February 26 and finishing on March 26, 2010. The sessions will run as follows:

5 Year Olds - 2:00pm - 3.30pm

6&7 Year Olds - 3.00pm - 4.00pm

During the session, the players will be introduced to the basics of cricket with the main aim of having fun.  Utilising the "Have-a-go" Cricket equipment, coaches will work with the players on learning the basics skills of catching, bowling and batting with the aim of playing a game in the last half hour of the session. The emphasis of "Have-a-go" Cricket is on participation and enjoyment.

Mr. Pearman, President of the BCB commented,

"This is one of the BCB's most popular programmes with it being fully subscribed for the past two years. In 2010 it was noted that many of the players in the programme progressed to the 8&Unders and continued to play cricket in the 8& League."

Mr. Pearman continued,

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Western Counties Cricket Association and Ironshore Insurance Ltd. for supporting these sessions and the National Cricket Team and the coaches who volunteer their time to coach."
