BBC Announces Pee Wee 'Have-a-go' Cricket Workshop

The Bermuda Cricket Board, with the support of the Western Counties Cricket Association and Ironshore Insurance Ltd., is pleased to announce that they will be holding a Pee Wee 'Have-a-go' Cricket Workshop for children ages 5 and 6.

The Workshop will be held at Warwick Academy Gym and will take place every Saturday, starting on April 19 and finishing on May 24, 2008. The sessions will run from 12.15pm - 1.30pm.

Mr. Arnold Manders, Cricket Development Director stated, "During the session, the young players will be introduced to the basics of cricket with the main aim of having fun.  Utilising the Kwik Cricket equipment, we will work with the players on learning the basics skills of catching, bowling and batting with the aim of playing a game on the last Saturday. The emphasis of Kwik Cricket is on participation and enjoyment. The equipment is made from high quality plastic which is light enough for small hands so it will be perfect for this age group."

Mr. Pearman, President of the BCB commented, "I am particularly pleased to see that the young ones will get a chance to experience cricket. This is an excellent way of introducing them to the game of cricket with the hope that they will want to enter our 8&U Youth league in a year or two. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Western Counties Cricket Association and Ironshore Insurance Ltd. for sponsoring these sessions."

To register: please download the registration form below and return to the BCB as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact the BCB on 292 8958 or email Participation is free.
