Brian Lara to talk to the National Players
|
|
The BCB is fortunate to have Brian Lara working with their national team players on Tuesday 19th October between 4:30pm and 6pm at the NSC. Mr. Lara will be undertaking a net session where he will discuss with players how he sets himself for an innings, his batting plans and how to play spin and pace bowling. He will also discuss with the bowlers tactics that can be used in ODI and Test cricket.
Coach Moore said
"I am very excited that Brian has been able to take time out of his already busy schedule. This is a great opportunity for cricketers and coaches of Bermuda to observe and listen to one of the world's greatest batsman discuss how he batted throughout his illustrious career."
I would also like to thank the Premier's Department and the Ministry of Tourism, especially Ms. Hall, for liaising with the BCB to allow this to work.
Brian Lara retired with 11953 test runs at an average of 52.88 from 232 Test matches and 10405 ODI runs at an average of 40.48 from 299 matches.

President of BCB Expresses Disappointment with ICC Decision
|

Mr. Reginald Pearman, President of the BCB commented on the ICC press statement released yesterday which announced that the ICC Cricket World Cup should consist of a 10 team format reducing the chances for Associate countries to reach the World Cup. Mr. Pearman said, "obviously we are extremely disappointed with this decision, however, we are waiting for further information. We are hopeful that more opportunities will arise for Associate countries in other competitions."

The Executive Committee has considered a recommendation from the Cricket Committee for the 2010 season regarding relegation and promotion. It was ratified that the top two teams in the First Division will be promoted and one team from the Premier Division will be relegated leaving eight teams in that division.
