Final 50 Over Matches

The 50 over league concludes this weekend and the BCB would like to highlight the possible outcomes and current net run rates of the teams in contention for the league titles and promotion. Under the 50 over regulations when teams are tied on points the league title will be decided by:

(i)                  most wins; then

(ii)                head to head; then

(iii)               net run rate

In the Premier Division Southampton Rangers and St. Davids are both fighting for the title. If St. Davids beat Police at Lords they will be crowned Champions. However, in the event of Rangers beating Somerset CC and St. Davids losing, both teams will be tied on points and head to head victories. Therefore the destiny of the league trophy will be decided on Net Run Rate. Rangers net run rate currently sits at 1.962 while St. Davids are on 1.601

In the First Division if Devonshire Rec defeat Warwick they will become Champions. Willow Cuts and St. Georges are tied on total victories and on their head to head matches. Willow Cuts have played all their games with a net run rate of 1.918. St. Georges who have a run rate of 1.614 will need to beat Somerset Bridge at White Hill in convincing fashion to lift the trophy and win promotion.

With all the final matches due to be played on Sunday August 30 at 11:00 am the BCB is looking forward to an exciting conclusion to the 50 over league and encourages the public to come out and support their team.
