Officials to Represent Bermuda at the ICC Americas Division 3 Championship

The BCB is pleased to announce that two Bermudian officials have been selected to attend the Pepsi ICC Americas Division 3 Tournament to be held in San Jose, Costa Rica, March 14 - 18, 2011. Mr. Michael Glasford has been selected to be an official scorer and Mr. Kent Gibbons has been selected to Umpire.

The ICC Americas Division 3 tournament is a six-team competition in which Peru, Belize, Chile, Costa Rica, Falkland Islands and Mexico will compete for a spot in the ICC World Twenty20 2012. The winner of the tournament will be promoted to Division 2 in April and will join Bahamas, Brazil, Panama, Suriname and Turks and Caicos Islands.

President of the Bermuda Cricket Board, Mr. Reginald Pearman stated,

"I am delighted to see that Bermudian officials continue to be recognized at the international level. A major focus of the BCB's Development Plan is to increase the opportunities for our officials. The fact that Bermuda has been represented on the international stage in the last four ICC Americas Region tournaments is a testament to the success of this initiative. I would also like to take this time to encourage any interested and aspiring Umpire's to contact the Bermuda Cricket Umpire Association who is currently offering a beginners course Tuesday evenings February 22 - March 29 (please click for more information and Registration Form). This is an excellent avenue to enjoy the sport of cricket with great opportunities for international experience."
