This will be the third ICC Americas Regional Coaching Seminar, the first two were held in Mexico City. Peru is one of the newest member countries to the ICC Americas region, having being awarded Affiliate membership of the ICC in June, 2007. The course will take place in the facilities of the historic Lima Cricket & Football Club (founded 1859) and will be hosted by the Peruvian Cricket Federation (PCF).

The programme is designed for candidates willing to be involved in cricket coaching and development in a voluntary capacity. The first part of the course includes a 2-day ICC "Introduction to Cricket" Instructors Course, instructed by ICC Americas RDO, Grant Dugmore. Following this, a WICB Level I course will take 4 days, and the instructors will be Wendell Coppin and Philip Service, both of the WICB. The presentation of the WICB Level I is possible due to co-operation between the ICC Americas Development office and the WICB with regard cricket development in the Americas region, for which ICC Americas is very grateful. Participants are invited from all ICC member countries in the Americas region.

On completion of the course, the candidates will be able to deliver an "Introduction to Cricket" course that will teach volunteers, school teachers and inexperienced parents in the basics of cricket coaching and they will be accredited with WICB Level I Coaching Course.

The schedule is as follows:

Sunday 21, October: Participants arrive

Monday 22-23, October (2 days): ICC "Introduction To Cricket" Instructors Course Wednesday 24-27, October (4 days): WICB Level I Coaching Course

Sunday 28, October: Participants depart

Arnold Manders, Cricket Development Director stated:

"The four candidates are elated to be chosen and are keen to attend the programme. The BCB are especially pleased to be sending three women who will be the first female qualified coaches in Bermuda. This is an important step in the development of women's cricket on the island."

Mr. Reginald Pearman, President of the BCB stated:

"With the growth of the youth game, especially the U10 league and our need to grow women's cricket, we are pleased to be able to send four enthusiastic candidates on this course to qualify them to instruct and develop a broad base of coaches and participants. This course is part of the BCB's continuing commitment to increasing the educational opportunities and qualifications for officials in Bermuda. I look forward to the four candidates making a significant impact on our developmental work on their return."
