Ann Browne-John Gets Award

 

Ann Browne-John, the ICC Americas Women's Cricket Representative, has been named to receive the Humming Bird Silver Medal for her long and devoted services to cricket in her country of Trinidad and Tobago. Browne-John was the first female to serve on the Playing and Development Committee of the West Indies Cricket Board. She skippered the West Indies women's team to the World Cup in 93 and 97 and was West Indies women's coach from 2002-2006. Ms. Browne-John  has been instrumental in assisting with the development of  Bermuda's womens cricket programme.

 

BCB President, Reginald Pearman said, "On behalf of the BCB I would like to congratulate Ms. Browne-John on her achievement. She deserves the recognition for what she has achieved in the game, and is an excellent ambassador for women's cricket."

 

National Coach Gus Logie said, "Congratulations to Ms. Browne-John on her awarding of the Hummingbird Silver Medal. If she continues the good work hopefully she will be given a Gold Medal in the future."
