On Tuesday 19 October, the Hon. Brian Lara, spent over 90 minutes talking, training and signing autographs to Bermuda's National Team Players. The Hon. Minister of the Environment and Sport, Glenn Blakeney, JP, MP welcomed Brian and 1st Vice President Allen Richardson presented him with a Bermuda shirt and cap.
Brian warmed the players up and then undertook a net session where he discussed with players how he sets himself for an innings, his batting plans and how to play spin and pace bowling. He discussed with the bowlers tactics that could be used in ODI and Test Cricket and emphasised how important mental preparation is in the game of cricket saying that 25% is skill and 75% is mental toughness.
The BCB would like to thank Brian for spending time with the players and the Ministry of Tourism for allowing Brian to take time out of his busy schedule to inspire Bermuda's future cricketers.
