The BCB would like to correct the inaccurate and misleading article in the Royal Gazette, "Rec. miss match due to BCB short notice," published today. The master schedule of cricket for the year that included First Division games on the same day as the BELCO Cup semi-finals was approved by the Board at the Executive meeting on February 10, 2009. This was subsequent to numerous Technical Committee meetings with the clubs at which the master schedule was presented. In addition, Mr. Richardson categorically denies the comments attributed to him relative to this issue. The scheduling of 1st Division games on the BELCO Cup semi-final date has been common practice in past years and Mr. Richardson reaffirmed this policy to the reporter.
Due to only 6 umpires being available to stand this weekend the 1st Division games scheduled for Saturday 16 May have been moved to the Saturday 13 June.
