June 26, 2008 BCB Announces Youth League All Star Games - League Standings and Teams The BCB is pleased to announce that the youth leagues will play their All Star games this Saturday June 28, 2008, on the North Field at the National Sports Centre. 2008 has been a successful season with 8 teams taking part in the new 8&U league, 17 teams taking part in the Hiscox 11&U, 12 teams in the BSG 14&U and 8 teams in the BF&M 17&U. Mr. Reginald Pearman, President of the BCB: "The 2008 Youth Leagues have been a great success. This year we introduced the 8&U League in which over 160 participates playing every Saturday morning at the National Sports Centre. Our existing Hiscox 11&U's, BSG 14&U's and BF&M 17&U's continue to grow and the numbers of participants, over 650 children, clearly proves this. We are also pleased to see the inclusion of our Girls National Development Squad, who competed in the Hiscox 11&U for the first time this year. The youth leagues have a strong emphasis on inclusion for all, where girls and boys alike can learn the game of cricket in a safe and nurturing environment." Mr. Pearman continued, "On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank all the volunteers and coaches for their hard work and dedication throughout the season and the League sponsors, Hiscox, Bermuda Security Group and BF&M, for their continued support of our programmes." As well as the All Star games taking place this Saturday, the BCB will be holding a prize presentation for the first, second and third placed teams in each league at 12:00pm, so we hope to see as many of the participants of the leagues attending as possible.
