50 Over League Update

With the limited over schedule concluding on August 30 Allen Richardson, Chairman of the Cricket Committee is excited about the range of possibilities and potential outcomes with regard to promotion from the 1st Division and the Belco Cup qualifiers for 2010.

With this weekends games being rained out, both Western Stars and Devonshire Recreation Club will receive 1 point for their match. Additionally, after reviewing the reports from the Leg Trappers v St. Georges match that was not played due to the pitch being unprepared and following established precedent, St. Georges has been awarded the points for that game.  Therefore any combination of Willow Cuts, Devonshire Rec and St. Georges could gain promotion on August 30.

In the Premier league, St. Davids control their own destiny. If they beat Police they will win the league.

The remaining positions are unclear particularly as there are 5 games that no scorecards have been received from the clubs.

Somerset v Cleveland                           June 7th

Cleveland v Police                                July 12th

Police v Somerset                                 July 26th

Cleveland v Somerset                           August 9th

Rangers v Police                                   August 16th

Mr. Richardson said, ?It is disappointing that we are still missing simple information from clubs with regard to Premier league matches. Last year the BCB was forced to award 0 points to all clubs that failed to submit and official scorecard. I sincerely hope that we are not pressed into that situation again.?
