2010 Americas Championship Schedule

The BCB is pleased to announce that the ICC have confirmed the following schedule for the 2010 ICC Americas Regional Division 1 Championship. The Championship will take place from 28 May through 4 June followed by a 20/20 Tournament on the weekend of the 4 - 6 June. Bermuda, USA, Canada, Cayman Islands, Argentina and Bahamas will compete in the eight-day tournament.

President of the BCB, Mr. Reginald Pearman stated,

"The Board is extremely pleased with the response from the Government and the cricketing community including the clubs who volunteered their grounds and who have worked hard to meet ICC standards. Games will be held at the National Sports Centre, Somerset Cricket Club, St. Georges Cricket Club, St. David's Cricket Club, Bailey's Bay Cricket Club and Western Stars Sports Club, which is a very positive indication of the work done to date. This is a great opportunity for Bermuda to showcase its cricketing passion and heritage and to prove that as a cricket tournament host nothing compares to the Bermuda experience. I urge everyone to come out and support our team as they battle to regain the Americas Championship that we last won in 2006."

Mr. Pearman concluded,

"I am also very pleased to note that we are the first country and region to host both a 50 overs and T20 tournament and I look forward to the weekend of 4 - 6 June for some action packed cricket."
