2009 BCB Youth Leagues
The BCB is pleased to announce that the 2009 League will take place from April 22 - June 27.
The League finishes with the All-star games at the National Stadium:

Registration deadline is Friday, March 20, 2009 AGE GROUPS The age groups are as follows: 8&U, 11&U, 14&U and 17&U (age at September 1st). SCHEDULE 8&U League - Saturday 9.30am - 12pm National Stadium (played with a soft ball - no pads and helmets required) 11&U League - Wednesday evenings 5.15pm - 7.30pm (20 overs) 14&U League - Friday evenings 5.30pm - 8.00pm (20 overs) 17&U League - Saturdays 10am - 3pm (30 overs) REGISTRATION DEADLINE Registration deadline is Friday, March 20, 2009, however, please submit your team as soon as possible which aids in the smooth running of the schedule. Please be aware that the rules have changed for 11&U and 14&U Leagues in relation to the wides and no-balls only. 11&U League Rule Changes Wides shall be signaled by the umpire - wide balls shall be considered outside the reach of batsmen standing in a regular stance and playing with a regular cricket stroke. When a wide is called by an umpire the batsman will be allowed to strike the ball on a tee on either the on or off side and score whatever runs that he/she can on that shot within the rules of cricket. There will only be six balls to an over. No - balls shall be signaled by the umpire. One run will be scored for the no-ball. There will be no extra ball, the batsman will get a free hit on the next delivery and can only be dismissed by being run out. Players cannot be out to no-balls with the exception of run-outs (not stumpings). No-balls are balls where: a) Bowler over-steps the crease b) Bowler throws the ball c) Ball reaches the batsman over waist height on the full, d) Ball reaches the batsman over shoulder height on the bounce, and e) Balls that bounce more than twice prior to reaching the batsman (2 bounces OK, 3 bounces = no ball). 14&U League Rule Changes An additional 2 runs shall be added to the score for wides. There will be no extra delivery. A wide cannot be given on the last ball of any innings. The innings must be completed with a legitimate delivery. An additional run(s) shall be added to the score for no-balls as well as the batsman receiving a free hit on the following delivery.
