2008 Americas Cricket Academy

 

The BCB is pleased to announce that Terryn Fray, Captain of the National U18s, and Jordan DeSilva, V. Captain of the National U18s, are currently attending the 2008 ICC Americas Academy. The Academy is taking place at the Sir Frank Worrell Development Cricket Centre, Trinidad and Tobago, August 6 - 16, 2008.

 

During the camp, the players will follow an intensive training programme lead by Kelvin Williams, Head Coach, Clem Hercules, Assistant Coach and Ronald Rogers, Fitness Coach. During their stay they will work on: fielding, catching, throwing, net sessions, batting drills, centre wicket practice, palates and fitness training. In addition, they will take part in several 50 overs matches.

 

Presentations during the Academy include: Injury Prevention and Management, The Laws of the game, Captaincy, Game Preparation - Discussion Planning, Media Interface, Motivation and Mental Toughness and Goal Setting.

 

Reginald Pearman, President of the BCB stated,

 

"I would like to congratulate both Terryn and Jordan for their selection to the ICC Americas Cricket Academy. This is a wonderful opportunity for two of our most promising young players to receive first class coaching and to train with some of the best players from the Americas Region. I am confident they will make the most of this opportunity and learn a lot from the experience."
