2009 BCB All-Star Games and League Awards

 

The BCB is pleased to announce the following All-Star Game Results:

 

Hiscox U11 All-Star Game

The West won by 8 runs. The West scored 85 for 8 and East scored 77 for 10. The following players won individual awards:

 

Man of the Match West: Chare Smith 22 runs and 1 wicket for 5 runs

Man of the Match East: Isaiah Creighton 20 runs

Play of the Game: Sean Tucker West - 2 wickets in 2.2 overs

 

Hiscox U11 League Standings

Charles Dupplin, Chief Executive Officer, Hiscox Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited said,

BSG U14 All-Star Game

The West scored 105 for 6 and the East scored 102 for 8.

 

Man of the Match West:  Justin Corday 2 catches, 2 wickets and 10 runs

Man of the Match East: Charles Marshall III 32 runs

The League play-offs are still in progress due to the bad weather last week.

 

Mr. Wayne Edwards, VP - Security Services of the Bermuda Security Group is quoted: 

 

"It is a pleasure for Bermuda Security Group to be involved in sponsoring the U14 League.  We have contributed for five years now and already several of these players have graduated to representing the country internationally in U19 competition.  We look forward to the day when someone will go all the way and may be representing the country in the World Cup.  We view this investment in the youth program as part of our responsibility to ensuring that we have a better Bermuda for years to come.  When we see the excitement, passion, and the fun experienced through sport we are optimistic for the future of cricket and for the future of Bermuda.  This commitment to the U14 League is just one piece of the overall plan for cricket in Bermuda and we are proud to be associated with the BCB in this venture."

 

BF&M U17 All-Star Game

Due to the game being weather effected the East won with a run rate of 6.3 runs per over. The West made 5.6 runs per over.

 

Man of the Match West:  Shaquille Jones 58 runs

Man of the Match East: Drewonde Bascome 36 runs

Play of the Game: Damali Bell catch

This is one of our biggest leagues and without the sponsors, coaches and parents it would not be such a success."
